We looked at 6 different precedents in groups and analyse the site with different topics. The topic for our group is "sharing in space" which is about the enclosure and exposure of the site and the elements that make people feel safe to use the site. This exercise allowed us to think more about how architects can create cosy spaces for people.

Group Idea: Our idea we presented was a mechanical system which focused on promoting awareness of water waste. It would be an interactive system with elements which would be triggered by one another in a chain reaction. The final step would result in plants being watered by bottles
Posted 17 May 2014 00:28
First section of the installation complete on 15/05/14. A system of reshapers/'plump'ers, passers and hangers works rather efficiently for a speedy process.

The event went well through out the day on site. After we finished our time on site we head back to Hulme Community Garden. This was a success, goodbye.

//HAPPY PEOPLE
Hi, meet Jody. One of the many passers by that has participate in this installation. She was really shocked that we were kind enough to be giving out free plants to the community. This event really had a great feed back from people who participated.

Day5_
We had a lecture with an architect about how to create spaces in people's needs. It was a really great lecture as he gave us an idea of the process of designing a space and he made it really simple to understand. I think it is very helpful and I will use these techniques for my studio projects.

Posted 17 May 2014 00:00
We scanned in the children's drawings and turned them into short gif animations. While the children had been out on the roof, a student was photographing their work and the children pointed and said "look an alien!" calling it the popcorn alien, so this was turned into an animation.

Day4_
After a presentation of the analysis of Sale and precedents, we started to plan out what are we going to do with the area. We chose the site with a large empty green space near a primary school and our idea is to create a sport area for residents in order to gather people in this area.
Posted 17 May 2014 00:00
//SHOW TIME
The plotted plants were arrange on top of the ready made shelf that we have incorporated in the design. The plants that were chosen was the nobella, nasturtium, and the french marigold. They were within our budget and they are also suitable for indoors.
