Day 6: We took a trip to All Saints park in the sunshine to test the shelters out in real, outside conditions, and to get the public to interact with them, to allow us to get feedback on our designs.

Taking the children on a tour of the School of Art. The children noted the triangle shapes used for the bridges. Later one girl drew out triangles in chalk, saying "I'm drawing triangles because they are really strong."

We have blocked the ways on the site for safety of the passers by. Unloading the installation on site which is on Stevenson square opposite Fred Aldous. A good weather to construct the installation.

The children from the Friars Primary School in Salford visit the School of Art. Our tour began in the entrance, and the children were asked to look up, which caused lots of gasping and "wows". They tried to guess how many times they could fit their school into the space.

Working as a team, the first and second year students created a story that would be told to children to get them excited. The story will take them on a journey from their school to the city in search of aliens! Looking out for key landmarks on the way, such as the Blue Mountain (blue pedestrian footbridge) and the Control Tower (the Renault car garage).

We visted the RIBA Hub where our collaborators PLACES Projects are based for a talk about their approach to working with children in a collaborative and creative way. Their exhibition 'Going Places, Growing Places' as part of the Architecture School for Children had its opening the night before so students were able to look around the display.

Our model is 1:10 scale so it is supposed to maintain 7 bricks as was calculated according to the information we got about the weight of the family for which it was designed. After adding a bit more foam representing mushroom structure our model maintained 5 bricks. The conclusion is, to maintain the whole family it would be necessary to put more foam to the model [mushroom in reality].

unfortunately, the honey comb design wasn't able to be build 1:1 due to the cost and complication. however, lecturers gave many realistic advise and lots is learned.

Before presenting our Design we made a 1:1 component to show how the design expands and flattens. I also used the SketchUp model to give an impression of how the shelter might be used.

Diagramming and inspiration! By diagraming and analysing the site plans I noticed the geometry and pattern of enclosure of the site . Through deconstructing, extruding and folding the plan I was able to create different shape canopies reflecting these two elements of the site
