First half of the session was an introduction of the brief and second half, a review of the previous sketches.

On the third session we were briefed and told the location of our urban intervention! Northern Quarter!

Session 6: Elevation of the recreational space created in site 1.
It consists of three layers.
1st Layer: Seating space
2nd Layer: Calm Zone
3rd Layer: Performing Arts Zone

Through the recommended trace overlay sketching methods we developed design ideas and on the final day we exhibited them :)

Session 4: Sketches produced from the first site visit. I chose the first site as it was located on a street which was less busy than the second site. This was an ideal location for the recreational centre.

Session 6: The last day of the event. The morning began by working and finalising our process sheets and final output. In the afternoon, we pinned up our work on the 6th floor in the Chatham Tower.

Diagramming and inspiration! By diagraming and analysing the site plans I noticed the geometry and pattern of enclosure of the site . Through deconstructing, extruding and folding the plan I was able to create different shape canopies reflecting these two elements of the site

In the 4th session we visited and sketched all 3 of the sites, I chose the first site, as I found the wall art and graffiti interesting and very reflective of the feel of Northern Quarter in general

The afternoon was spent developing our existing sketching skills at an urban sketching session Central Library. Exploring the building and its context

The first session introduced us the the world of urban sketching, with an inspirational talk by Simone Ridyard. Her energetic and experimental style was the motivation we needed for our live sketching session!

We used the third session to finalise our designs and make our a2 design proposal sheets

This is the perspective of my building in site 1.
I designed an Art Gallery which collects the best paintings and art work of students of the universities. It is called Newton Art Gallery and its purpose is to motivate students work and try harder. Also it is a tourist attraction to see and admire students' work.

Our second session was spent visiting both sites and sketching some initial ideas for our intervention. At this point I decided to design an outdoor restaurant at site 1, located in the Northern Quarter

Groups final central library sketches. Whilst creating these sketches we spent time watching the members of the urban sketching group draw the same building and took advice from them

Here are the plans and a section of the building that give important information about the building.

I used a special technique to the exterior of the building.
I placed colorful crystals which hang from the ceiling. I also added a lot of mirror windows in the facade of the building.
By this way it is created a play with the natural light which reflects on the mirror windows.
The result is very impressive and creates a unique colorful lighting in the place.

Our first session was spent analysing the central library building through photographs and sketches. We used this time mainly to practice our quick sketching skills

Day 5- The day was spent finalising ideas and sketching ready for the exhibition. I particularly focused to link my urban intervention to the vibrant feel of the Northern Quarter.

Day 6- Our work was displayed in the Architecture building for people to view

Day 2- The sketching started with the urban sketchers around the central library

Day 4- Our first visit to both the sites in the northern quarter, we spent our day sketching until the rain started.

Day 3- We were given our brief and tutorial on urban intervention

Day 4: after creating our individual urban interventions we met up again as a group and discussed them. Final finishing touches to the sheets to be exhibited.

We were asked to design a building in that site.
Analysis of the site.

1st DAY
We visited the central library in order to make some quick sketches.
The aim: to improve our sketching skills.

This was our exhibition for all the proposals for the urban intervention for both sites one and two produced by the events participants from year 1 and year 2.

On the last season of the event, we were all editing and finalising our process sheet before exhibition.

This was my final process sheet for my proposal of the intervention for site two.

Using my drawing I produced my final perspective, which included my intervention on site. My intervention is simply installing eight empty wall panels on site to allow artists and other people to gather to produce art exhibitions and drawings for people to view and appreciate.

This is another perspective that I produced for my intervetion, this was a live sketch.

Once I chose my site, I produced a live sketch to be used for my perspective of the intervention.

I chose the first site because looking at the surrounding the walled had graffiti and beautiful art works; I wanted to include it in the intervention which I wanted to design for that area.

On Monday 12th in the second seasons, we visited two of the chosen site for our project and we had to decided which one to work on.

In the second season of the event, we went to the Centrals Library to produce some live sketches. It allowed me to work on a skill that I had not touched on before; I am looking forward to doing more live sketches.

The first two seasons of the event were positively interesting because we got introduced into the project and it we were taken to the Central Library.

5. Final design

4. Finalizing the design for the intervention proposal. I changed my initial plan to create a beer garden for an interactive art intervention. This is a bird cage where people can sit inside and feel protected from the rain whilst watching the graffiti of a free bird opposite them

Fifth Session: Presentation and review of our urban infill proposals. After which, the co-ordinators advised us on the proposals that we presented.

Fourth Session: First trip to both the sites. Here we had to pick one of the sites for our urban infill ideas.
