During my trip to Manchester China town, I found some interesting elements .The two entrances, which already exist to the car park are adopt the Chinese traditional architecture.Inspired by this architectural style,I took some photos and I sketch some elements, such us the roof design or the details of the structure. We try to connect these elements of the Chinese architectural style with the philosophy and culture of Chine. Our idea was a combination of these two , philosophy / culture and elements of the traditional Chinese architecture.

Day 6 - Introduction to "System Dynamics. The main aim of the session was to introduce the group to the basics behind game design. We had to individually come up with an "If Else" statement for another person. This statement basically meant "If" a certain thing happens an action should be made, "Else" if a certain action should be made till there is an "If". This activity took place in the cafe.
My "If Else" statement -
"If" - A person wearing glasses talks you have to walk over and stand next to them.
"Else" - Walk around looking at the floor.

Before building the arch we made two pieces to fit arouynd the tree. The reason we form our arch like that was due to leonardo Da Vinci arch form, he devised a method for creating a self supported arched bridge that doesn't require anything to hold together,

Session 6 // The 'If Else' Statement
The result that the 'If Else' statement has is the one depicted above. As soon as Actor 1 collides or overlaps with Actor 2, its image changes to an icon of the devil. It then continues to move randomly around the screen.
The process of creating a basic game therefore gave a better understanding behind 'System Dynamics' and how this could be potentially translated to the Data City app.

Session 6 // The 'If Else' Statement
After understanding the logic of the 'If Else' statement in session five, the sixth taught session saw the group exploit the statement in GameSalad.
GameSalad is a basic program that allows you to create a game or animation based upon a series of rules. By creating two actors we can see the effects that the rules have. The statement therefore reads:
If Actor 1 overlaps or collides with Actor 2, then change the image to an icon of a devil.
Otherwise, move randomly around the screen at an acceleration rate of 100.

After a presentation on 1st May, the collaborators and client chose a proposal to bring forward. The chosen proposal involves numerous folded paper hats tessellated by being hanged up on strings on various levels, shaping up a backdrop and screen, that will block the view from the public audience and provide 'safe' green room. The first few sessions were about planning layers, folding hats and setting up stations of production.
Posted 16 May 2014 09:44
After being allocated in groups of three, we were given the task to work on the initial ideas for a proposal for the backdrop installation. Since this development stage took place during holidays, communication and task distribution happened via internet connection. Each group had to cover the basic theoretical approach and a brief aesthetic and technical description of the proposals.
