With the final exhibition approaching, students were tasked with a 'ready steady cook' like challenge, gathering waste materials and re imagining a new use for them; with the final product to be placed in particular locations around the MMU campus. The aim of these recycled interventions is to bring a new lease of life into some of the many overlooked and underutilized spaces within the campus.

Posted 12 May 2014 15:13
For the buoyant base, we discovered a company in the US that was growing mushrooms as a substitute for polystyrene. The root is used to make building insulation and they had even started using it for the core of surfboards. This is the material that we have suggested for the base specifically for these properties.
